Events at MHPC

It's almost time for the leaves to start falling and cover up the trash along Route 40. Volunteer for litter pickup and help us make MHPC's 1.2-mile stretch shine again! We will meet at the CVS at Bethany Lane and Route 40 at 9:00 AM for a safety brief followed by about 2 hours of cleanup. Fresh air, walking, lots of bending, and great fellowship make it a healthy and fun activity. Wear gloves, comfortable shoes, long pants, and shirts with sleeves. Bags and safety vests will be provided. If you have not yet signed an online Adopt a Highway waiver, please contact Will and he will provide you with the information needed. The rain date for this activity is Saturday, October 17th.

This is an informal opportunity to ask questions, share encouragement, prayerfully support our leaders, and discover new ways to get involved. Whether you want to listen in or jump into a project, all are welcome!

Hot cocoa! Candy! Costume parade! Come out and join the fun from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Hebron High School, located at 9440 Old Frederick Road (Route 99) in Ellicott City. This event is sponsored by the Mount Hebron Marching Unit (MtHMU), MTHOCA, and MHPC. MHPC will be serving hot cocoa during the event - volunteers are needed! The MtHMU will lead the costume parade and perform a short concert starting at 6:45 PM in the West (Student) Parking Lot. For those who would like to decorate their car/parking space, the West Parking Lot will open to participants at 5:45 PM and close to cars at 6:30 PM. Come with plenty of candy to share! Trunk-or-treaters must be dressed in costume to participate. Additional parking will be available in the East (Faculty) Parking Lot.

Save the date! Christian Community Presbyterian Church invites you to their annual Women's Retreat, to be held March 12th to 14th, 2027, at the Rhodes Grove Camp and Conference Center in Chambersburg, PA. Our very own Rev. Amy Carlson will be the featured speaker. The theme will center on Wonder - wonder in the world around us, wonder in our faith, and wonder unfolding within ourselves. It is a wonderful weekend of fellowship, music, crafts and other activities. More information to follow!

The Retired Old Men Eating Out (ROMEO) lunches are just getting organized! The next ROMEO lunch will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 13 at the Woodstock Inn (outdoor seating area). These lunches provide opportunities for fellowship and to sample the casual cuisine at various HoCo eating establishments. Do you have to be retired to eat? No, all are welcome to attend! Lunches are no-host, meaning attendees get what they want to eat and drink and pay their own share of the bill. Lunch takes about 1-1.5 hours. Future lunches will be at different locations based on recommendations from attendees at the preceding lunch.

The Presbytery of Baltimore is hosting a Youth Fall Fest from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Howard County. Grades 6-12 and youth leaders welcome! Please let Pastor Amy know if you plan to attend. We will meet at and depart from MHPC at 4:45 PM. Feel free to bring a friend!

Come join MHPC at HOCO Pride! This is a free, family-friendly event at Merriweather Park in Columbia. We will have a table and are looking for volunteers (11:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Sign Up located in the Narthex. See Kathleen if you have any questions.

Save the date! The Mt. Hebron Friends Green Team is excited to present "The Extraordinary Caterpillar," a film by Jeff McKay. A peek into the dazzling world of nature's tiniest and mightiest superheroes! Please join us at 7:00 pm for this special screening. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.
