Events at MHPC

This year's Christmas Pageant is: The Tale of Three Trees, A Traditional Folktale (retold by Angela Elwell Hunt). All children and youth are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Christmas Pageant will take place during Sunday morning worship service. Participants should arrive by 9:30 am to get dressed in costume. A mini rehearsal will be held during Sunday School on Sunday, Dec. 1. Rehearsal and costume fitting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11:00 am.

This time of year can be particularly challenging for many of us. Our Healing and Wholeness service will create space for the difficult emotions that emerge during the holiday season, particularly grief around endings and anxiety around new beginnings. Whether you are in a time grief, health issues, transitions or other difficult events in your life, or simply want to sit alongside and pray for another who is, we invite you to come to this sacred service of prayer. Meet us at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

It's time for the Winter cleanup of our part of Route 40! That means fellowship, fresh air, and exercise as we continue MHPC's longest consecutive community mission activity. We could use your help! The cleanup will take about 2 hours. We will meet in the CVS Parking Lot at the intersection of Bethany Lane and Route 40 at 9:00 am. Wear comfortable shoes and bring gloves. Safety vests and bags will be provided. Many of us have found that wearing a light backpack makes carrying water and extra bags easy and convenient. The rain date for this event is Saturday, December 21st.

Volunteers needed! We will gather from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm to pack away the Christmas decorations in the church and Hebron House.

Our book selection for January is Upstairs at the White House: My Life with the First Ladies by J.B. West and Mary Lynn Kotz. We will meet in Hebron House at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP if you plan to attend!

Our book selection for December is Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan. We will meet at Peggy Ervin's home at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP if you plan to attend and bring a wrapped book for our annual Christmas Book Exchange.

The men will meet at 6:00 pm in Hebron House. All proceeds will go to support the maintenance fund. Contact Alan Mergenthaler to reserve a seat!

The children and youth will bake cookies during Sunday School to be served in the Fellowship Cafe following worship.
